We are excited to announce the launch of our new, greatly expanded Scale Calculator V2! This toolset is specially designed to make the work of architects, engineers, surveyors, estimators, and CAD drafters much easier.
With these intuitive calculators, you no longer need a calculator or complex formulas when preparing your print work or studying technical drawings. Furthermore, everything works 100% securely and locally in your browser.
Discover the 6 new tools
Our new scale calculator now bundles six handy functionalities on one clear page:
1. Convert Scale (Print Ratio)
Do you have a plan at scale 1:100, but want to print it at scale 1:50? Simply enter your current and desired scale, and the calculator tells you exactly at what percentage (e.g., 200%) you need to enlarge your file on your large format printer.
2. Determine Scale
Is the scale missing on a plan, or was the drawing printed incorrectly (not at 100%) so the scale is no longer accurate? Measure a reference distance (e.g., a doorway of 90cm or an indicated dimension line) with a ruler. We calculate the current scale and suggest the nearest standard scale including a correction factor.
3. Convert Distances (Reality & Plan)
Lightning-fast conversion of measured distances from the plan to actual meters or vice versa. Also ideal for reading American Imperial units (inch, ft) and converting them to the metric system.
4. Change & Determine Paper Sizes
Discover exactly what scale change occurs if you reduce an A1 plan to a handy A3 format. With the new “Required Format” tool, you can also enter the actual dimensions of your project. The application automatically calculates which ISO paper format (A0, A1, …) this project fits best at your desired scale and margins!
5. AutoCAD Viewport Calculator
No more guessing or calculating for your ZOOM XP factor in AutoCAD. Enter the drawing units of your Model Space (e.g., cm) and Paper Space (e.g., mm). The tool provides you with the exact ZOOM command that you can simply copy and paste to place your plan perfectly to scale in the layout.
6. Measure PDF Locally (In-Browser Tool)
Measure directly on digital PDF building plans without expensive software.
- 100% Privacy: Your PDFs are never uploaded to an external server; they are loaded locally in your own browser.
- Easy Calibration: Draw a line over a known distance and enter how many meters this is in reality.
- Fast Measuring: Click and easily measure all other rooms, doors, and pipes on the plan based on your calibration.
Fast, secure, and available everywhere
The scale calculator is completely free to use and requires no account or login. Because the tool runs directly in your browser, it works lightning fast on both your desktop in the office, and on your smartphone or tablet on site.
You can permanently find the calculator in the menu bar at the bottom of the website (in the footer) under the heading ‘Handige Tools’, or directly via europlan.be/en/schaalcalculator.
Try the renewed scale calculator now and experience it yourself!
